After reading this critique, i have to agree that firefly can be read linearly to a certain extent. i also did firefly for my critique and i was curios to see if anyone else agreed that the poem is much more linear than any of the other hypertexts we read. it seems to be the only one with both a definate beginning and a definate end. however i do understand why the authors tells the reader the poem is not linear, because while it may not seem like it at first, the poem has almost endless variations. on the other hand, firefly can leave the reader with some sense of satisfaction or accomplishment when reaching the end, as apposed to the others, which can almost go on forever with no end in sight
